The first-ever Power of Partnership Summit (POP) in Richmond, Virginia, brought together over 200 travel and tourism professionals to explore the intersection of culture, community, and climate. Co-hosted by Tourism Cares, The Cultural Heritage Economic Alliance, The Travel Foundation, and the U.S. Cultural & Heritage Marketing Council, the event included expert-led discussions, a multicultural marketplace featuring diverse suppliers, and immersive experience days showcasing Richmond’s cultural and historical treasures. The goal among the attending industry leaders and change-makers was to amplify multicultural experiences, leverage cultural assets, and propel accelerated climate action. Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre | Tourism Cares Grantee
Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre was provided support on behalf of Globus Family of Brands to support ongoing mentorship, build capacity and foster resiliency for Indigenous community members through meaningful employment. The grant funds will also be used to develop a new guided tour called ANCIENT MEDICINES, enriching and connecting the cultural identity of the Indigenous Youth Ambassadors and Cultural Ambassadors the Centre works with.
