2024 North American Meaningful Travel Summit Schedule

September 30 - October 2, 2024 | Eugene, Oregon


In conjunction with the summit, the Willamette Valley Visitors Association has partnered with Travel Unity to offer an exclusive Travel DEI Practitioner Workshop and Certification over the afternoon of Sunday, September 29th and the morning of Monday, September 30th for a deeply discounted $45 rate. This workshop is open to anyone, whether attending the Summit or not. Register here to join this workshop. This is a small group training and registration is extremely limited, we ask that Tourism Cares attendees from outside of Oregon register under the "Tourism Cares Attendee" ticket.

Monday, September 30

  • 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.: Education Sessions

    • Panel One: Cultivars of Connection: Agritourism and Rural Community Empowerment

    • Coffee and Snack Break

    • Session: Trellising Impact: Untours, BCorps and Sustaining an Impactful Industry, Sarah Payne, Untours Foundation

    • Panel Two: Uncorking Access: Understanding Disability Inclusion in Travel

  • 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.: Evening Reception (hosted by the Willamette Valley Visitors Association)

Tuesday, October 1

  • 7:00 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.: (Optional) Mindfulness and Chair Yoga Session
    The Graduate Hotel | Hellman

    • Join Eugene Yoga and Stella as she takes you through a 45-minute mindfulness and movement practice. Participants will be in chairs for the entirety of the class, but this does not mean there will not be movement. The program will include some meditation, breathwork, and chair yoga.

    • Wear comfortable clothing and bring water

  • 8:00 a.m.: Complimentary Breakfast

  • 8:30 - 10:00 a.m.: Education Session

    • Session: Edith and Randy Woodley, Eloheh Indigenous Center for Earth Justice and Farm & Seeds

  • 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Community Experiences | Willamette Valley region

    • Attendees will have the opportunity to choose their top preferred experiences when registering and will be notified via email confirming their experience as we get closer to the Summit.

    • Transportation to all experiences will be provided to and from the Graduate Hotel.

    • Lunch will be provided for all experiences.

  • 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.: Networking and Drinks (cash bar)

Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre | Tourism Cares Grantee

Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre was provided support on behalf of Globus Family of Brands to support ongoing mentorship, build capacity and foster resiliency for Indigenous community members through meaningful employment. The grant funds will also be used to develop a new guided tour called ANCIENT MEDICINES, enriching and connecting the cultural identity of the Indigenous Youth Ambassadors and Cultural Ambassadors the Centre works with.
